- SYMPTOMS may include shortness of breath, wheezing, coughing, tightness or
- pressure in the chest. Severity and frequency differ with each patient.
- CAUSES are unknown but involve a reversible obstruction of the airways. This
- may be the result of exercise, changes in temperature or barometric pressure
- tobacco smoke, cold air, fumes from gasoline, allergy to pollen or other
- allergies, viral respiratory infection and emotional upset.
- TREATMENT. Medication to help reduce occurrences and for acute attacks.
